Meet Mrs. McCormick
Welcome to another great year at Millennium High School! I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready for a new year.
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in English Education, a minor in history, and an endorsement in Structured English Immersion (SEI). I have had the privilege of working in the Peoria Unified School District teaching English Language Arts and Project Ideal (Gifted) for three years prior to working at Millennium.
I believe that the classroom is a community of learners, with me included. As a community we will all be expected to adhere to the RESPECT guidelines for classroom behavior outlined in the first week of school. As a class we will aim to achieve a welcoming and safe working environment for all.
Activities brought to class are designed to help students explore literature and writing as well as their own backgrounds, thoughts, and experiences in order to come to deeper and more meaningful conclusions. I believe in students and teachers sharing in the learning process through the posing of questions and exploration of unique ideas. Students should feel a sense of ownership in their classroom and the material they are studying.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Millennium staff this year and know there are many exciting things happening here on campus. As we embark upon a new school year there are many wonderful lessons to be learned and roads to be explored.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. It is my belief that teachers and parents should work together in order to ensure the success of each child. I am most easily contacted by the e-mail address listed in the "Contact" tab, as I check it multiple times a day.
Thank you for all you do in support of Millennium High School. I look forward to meeting you and working with your child this year.
Sincerely,
Brooke McCormick
